Je vois surgir un carré inattendu. Il surprend. S’il était blanc, il s’imposerait comme s’il possédait tous les droits. Son coloris bleuté l’adoucit. À mes yeux, il s’intègre naturellement au fond du tableau.

I see an unexpected square appear. It takes me by surprise. If it were white, it would assert itself as if it had every right to be there. Its blue hue softens it. To my eyes, it blends naturally into the background of the painting.
