C’est simple : je me regarde dans un miroir, je prends une pose et je dessine ce que je vois. C’est immédiat comme sujet de portrait.

C’est aussi un vaste monde. Qui comprend évidemment mon visage, et aussi le futur échange de regards avec ceux qui s’arrêteront devant mon autoportrait. Je regarde ceux qui me regardent et j’accepte de me faire juger dans la façon de me présenter en utilisant le langage suggestif mais codé du dessin, que chacun interprète selon sa propre grille de correspondance. J’aime la souplesse et l’indéterminisme de cette manière d’apparaître.

It’s simple: I look at myself in a mirror, strike a pose and draw what I see. It is an immediate subject for a portrait.

It is also a big world. Which obviously includes my face, and also the future exchange of glances with those who will stop in front of my self-portrait. I look at those who are looking at me and I accept to be judged in the way of presenting myself using the suggestive but coded language of the drawing, which each one interprets according to his own grid of correspondence. I like the flexibility and indeterminism of this way of appearing.
