Dans le livre In my view, l’artiste Vija Celmins commente une peinture de Philip Guston réalisée en 1963. C’est celle-ci. Ce qui me touche particulièrement dans cette peinture de Guston c’est le geste  forcément mal assuré du peintre qui explore l’inconnu, comme celui d’un aveugle qui explore d’une main ouverte l’obscurité ambiante.

In the book In my view, the artist Vija Celmins writes about a painting of 1963 by Philip Guston. It is this one. In this Guston’s painting, I am particularly impressed by the uncertainty of the gesture; It cannot be otherwise since the painter explores the unknown, as a blind man explores with his hands  the obscurity around him.
