Mon tableau est simplement l’histoire d’une cabane et de trois boules qui se rencontrent et se demandent si elles peuvent coexister. La cabane, construction concrète soumise à la gravité, n’aime pas être vue en compagnie de boules flottant dans l’air. Les boules sont conciliantes: «Nous venons de l’abstraction et nous pouvons nous adapter à toutes les situations en condensant le réel, en simplifiant les rapports et en compensant par divagation.»

Comme traduction de Cabane et boules, le traducteur DeepL m’a donné Hut and Balls, ce qui me surprit car j’ai alors pensé à Ball and Chain que j’avais écouté peu de temps auparavant sur l’album Cheap Thrills de Big Brother & The Holding Company/Janis Joplin, 1968.

My painting is simply the story of a hut and three balls that meet and wonder if they can coexist. The hut, a concrete construction subject to gravity, does not like to be seen in the company of balls floating in the air. The balls are conciliatory: « We come from abstraction and can adapt to any situation by condensing reality, simplifying relationships and compensating by rambling. »

As a translation of Cabane et boules, the translator DeepL gave me Hut and Balls, which surprised me because I thought of Ball and Chain, which I had shortly before listened to on Big Brother & The Holding Company/Janis Joplin, 1968 album Cheap Thrills.
